Developed by the global design company, and well respected, Pentegram, What Type Are You? is a fun video that asks personality questions that later reveals to you what type (or font) you are. I have to admit I feel like I am really bad at these things because I tend to answer the questions thinking that the answer would turn into something I want!

For you designers out there who hate having to fight endless battles with PHP while you try to implement your beautiful web designs into a CMS, well a gift from heaven may be on its way. Firerift… a Content Management System that is implemented without funky PHP, purely HTML and CSS!
I have yet to try this thing out, but if it can do what it says and functions as it appears… then this could be a game changer!

One of my websites I frequent daily is Brand New. Brand New is a website/blog that comments on brand/identity redesigns. There is humor in its criticisms but also a lot truth. It makes you realize the impact that rebranding has.
Check out the newly redesigned Brand New.

Some new free fonts to add to your collection… also take a look at the “mission statement” of the league:
We’re done with the tired old fontstacks of yesteryear. Enough with the limitations of the web, we won’t have it. It’s time to raise our standards. Here, you’ll find only the most well-made, free & open-source, @font-face ready fonts.

The Book Cover Archive is, well, just that. A website that catalogs the designs of many different book covers. I love book covers. On sheet of paper has to sum up or identify multiple other pages that are full of stories, facts, illustrations etc. Check it out.
PS. Did I mentioned I designed my first book cover? It was also my first photograph for a book cover. The book is called Grace Is For Sinners by Serena Woods. Check it out here: http://www.graceisforsinners.com.

Otl Aicher, also known as Otto Aicher, was a German graphic designer who designed the 1972 Munich Olympics event design. This is probably one of my favorite branding because it is so consistent through out every piece. The typography is timeless and the designs for each piece are unique to their own sport but are stylized with confidence in color and composition.
Take a look at Otl Aicher on Flickr.

Here’s a look at the Adobe Photoshop toolbar and how it has changed through the different version upgrades. I was introduced to Adobe Photoshop at version 5.0. Weird to look at it now!
