Ryan Adams Engaged to Mandy Moore
Published on February 11th, 2009

According to E! Online, alt-country star Ryan Adams and pop artist Mandy Moore are engaged.
I am a little confused by this but I guess this makes sense considering he mentioned his ‘stepping back’ from music. Apparently to make time for his new fiance!

Ryan Adams Is A Drama Queen
Published on January 21st, 2009

Ryan Adams has announced via his blog that he is ‘stepping back’ from music for awhile, stating that he has “a whole lot of living and learning to do”. He has officially quit his band ‘The Cardinals’ and his last show will be on March 20th in Atlanta.
This is the kind of thing I love about Ryan Adams. It’s ridiculous, so much drama it’s rock star. They say any press is good press and this is what makes Ryan Adams who he is. He is a alt-country rock star who could probably be compared to the modern likes of Jeff Tweedy, from Wilco, or Elliott Smith, in terms of how far reaching his style of music is, which is not very far. So in light of that it amazes me how much this guy makes his way in to press. This is what makes him a social genius.
I mean let’s take for example his ex-girlfriends… Parker Posey, Winona Ryder, Leona Naess, Beth Orton and model Jessica Joffe? What indie folk artist does that? Granted if his music did not back any of this up I would easily write him off but he has been pretty consistent. I admit as of late I have been let down but considering he has released nine actual LPs, has performed with the likes of Elton John and has produced an album for Willie Nelson within such a short span of time the man can create art.
So this leads us back to where we are now. Ryan Adams, stepping back from music. Well he obviously cannot quit music, he was born to do music. It is just apparent, from his recent sobriety, interning at a fashion magazine Blackbook, to finishing a book, he has been going through some major life changes and he probably would love to just sit and stare at his shoes, and I say ‘that’s OK’.
Good luck Ryan and will see or listen to you soon!
